What better signpost for autumn than Apples...............

A bounty of autumn delights ~ straight from the apple orchard.

Or.........maybe Publix!

can you almost smell the aroma of pies baking!

One apple with a leaf! Did someone know how much that would please me.

Bounty!  Bumper crop!

Warm glow of Autumn.

Over by the Sea...........

I have been seeing many pictures of the windswept beaches of the Atlantic as storm Irene sweeps up the coast. This has reminded me of a much calmer time a few weeks back.
Since the early seventies I have lived less than an hour's drive from beautiful Atlantic Ocean beaches. Yet, I could probably count on my two hands the number of times I have gone there, and have fingers left over! So near and yet so far away! Unlike many people, I have only one childhood memory of going to the beach and that would be the last time until years later when I spent a few honeymoon days at Ocean City, Md. Recently, however, I had an over-night stay at Daytona South beach. My friend Rhonda invited three girlfriends to her condo.  We were hoping to watch the next to the last shuttle launch that afternoon, from the sand.

While eating lunch at one of the local eateries, we learned that the launch had been scrubbed.

We were very disappointed but there were other things to be done.

The Nina and the Pinta were docked nearby so we toured those.

Talking to the caption.

We also, went to a wildlife reserve.

Had a perfect view of the lighthouse.

Next stop, Sugar Mill Park which provided some good exercise, pleasant plant looking and dinasaurs, no less!

Back at the condo we did what girls do - took a long walk on the beach, then relaxed while we dangled our feet and legs in the seaside hot tub, compared pedicures and talked about all the other important things.

After enjoying some yummy food at Rhonda's table, we settled in, nice and cozy to watch a rerun of the Royal Wedding which had taken place that morning. But, that was not the only important event of the day - my niece was on Wheel of Fortune!  So, we cheered Hollie on as she won big bucks!

Way to go, Hollie!!!  Ronda's condo is as cozy as the inside of a seashell and eventually we called it a day.  As I fell asleep listening to the roar of the waves my last thoughts were, I could get use to this. And, where has the ocean been all my life!

Rhonda and I were up the next morning before day light, one of the best times of the day when you have such a view.

Who could experience this and not be amazed at God's creation! And, the sun comes up every day - whether we see it or not.
The dawning of a new day!  "There are other beaches to explore, there are more shells to find. This is only the beginning."   ~  Gift of the Sea.

Pieces of this and that.........

My sharing today is somewhat like a crazy quilt in that nothing really fits together. But, it all adds up to a lot of my time. I found this tablecloth hanging in Goodwill this morning. My first thought was: Monet. My second thought was: a spring tea party, outside under the trees.

And then, do I have any dishes that wouldn't get lost among all those flowers - maybe my white plates?

Yes, by spring I will get it all together and have a Monet outdoor tea party!

At Target I saw this product that I have never noticed before.

I was not "sold" after the first bite. It took me back many years to something that I tasted out of a baby food jar.

I thought a dab of sour cream might make it better.

What really helped were these Snyder's sea salt and cracked pepper pretzel pieces.

These are another new item for me - Kraft German Chocolate Cake, and Cinnamon Bun Mallow bites - one bag of each and I put them together in this old bowl.  They are a little bigger than the mini-marshmallows.  What first attracted me to them was the color. I see all fall-color things now!  I would return for more of these sweet little puffs.

I loved this grain sack towel from Target also. I'll save the purchase of a cape from Goodwill for another day's show n' tell, after I sew on the new buttons found at The Sewing Studio and find a new belt for it. I hope you have had a colorful, sweet day too.

Please leave a comment so I will know if this blog is being looked at and enjoyed.

Want to know a lady ~ look at her rooms...................

Starting in my bedroom ~ All who like bright colors, just turn your heads! Same for all who have seen these on facebook. My dream was to have an all white room, from bright white to dirty white. I just couldn't drum up enough energy to paint the furniture so I ended up with a brown/white. I like the results, could do more if I had the means to do with, but couldn't we all. I find this an inviting retreat at the end of my day.

The detail of the coverlet that I was so happy to find at Tuesday Mornings, low cost, light weight, cotton but has a nice satin sheen ~ exactly what I had hoped to find!

Showing the detail of the embroidery on the pillow cases. I really enjoy doing this kind of needlework.

The bronze color, whatever-it-is in the tin container on the wall came from Walmart from their christmas decorations. I thought they were just perfect for my use here, year round.

T.V. small enough? I love it. Looks like a toy compared to most.  I have buttons on display in here but will save those to share on button day.

Dressing area with sink just out of sight on the left.

And now for my tiny, tiny, black and white, hall bathroom  ~

Splish, splash, it's for taking a bath.
But, who says you can't have a large chandelier in a very small bathroom!

Just a touch of red, too.

A bit of sparkle never hurts.

Everything above the sink is a reflection of the wall behind you in the mirror.  See the small red camera in the silver tub? It is about to take another picture.

There!!!

I have a little shoe thing going on.

One shoe can change your life ~ Cinderella.

Loved this little black framed picture from the flea-market in Spring Grove that day I walked around with my brother. I attached it to the fabric-covered canvas which makes it larger and matches the curtain.

There you go for today. I will try to give you more color in the next room pictures.
