Morning Has Broken...........

...............As I sat at my desk waiting for the coffee to be ready it was still almost dark outside. But when I looked out the window towards the eastern sky ...............

..............this is what I saw.  A new morning was breaking and what a scene it was! I grabbed my little camera and headed out the front door (in my gown) and snapped a few pictures. I am amazed that they turned out this good because I was standing in darkness, dark enough to not worry about being out there in my night clothes!

(The small round light is a street light.)

The birds were singing and I thought of the old song of Cat Stevens -  Morning has broken, like the first morning. Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.  Praise for the singing, praise for the morning, praise for the springing fresh from the word.

I thought of the two friends whose funerals I will attend, one on Friday and the other on Saturday. One an elderly man the other only twenty seven. They have experienced their last morning on earth and I am sad about that. But they were both great Christian men and it is a joyful thing to know they are still in the arms of their Creator and in a wonderful place those of us still on earth cannot comprehend. They are safe with the One who gave us the first morning and this morning!

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning.  Born of the one light Eden saw play.  Praise with elation, praise every morning. God's recreation of the new day!!!

    1. Thank you. I am not sure whether it flashed or not but I am thinking not. I just have a little Nikon coolpix and keep it set on automatic. It does good enough to suit me most of the time. I never crop or change anything after the picture is made - don't know how but would like to. I would really like to have a camera that would allow for up-close good pictures. I wrote down the name of one a blogger reccomended - Nikon D5100 live view.

    2. Lilana, do you get a notification when I reply here? I think these pictures and what followed is a moment like you described to me - it definitely wasn't planned.

  2. Beautiful post and photos. It seems like we just keep hearing of friends who've passed away lately. Thanks for sharing the words to "Morning has Broken". I hadn't thought of that in a long time.
Hugs and have a great weekend,
